Mr. Sadruddin Hashwani belongs to an illustrious industrialist family of Karachi. He started his business career in 1960 as a trader who, along with his brother, launched their maiden venture “Hassan Ali Company”. In the early 1970, the Hashwanis were acknowledged as “Cotton Kings of Pakistan”, besides being leading exporter of rice and other commodities. In the aftermath of the nationalization drive.
Mr. Hashwani diverted his resources towards other business ventures, notably the Hotel industry. In 1973, he launched the construction of Holiday Inn Islamabad (Now Marriot Hotel), which was opened in 1978 under the corporate umbrella of Hashwani Hotels Limited. This was followed by Holiday Inn Karachi (Now Marriott Hotel) that was inaugurated in the year 1981.
In 1985 Mr. Hashwani made a successful Bid for the majority shares of Pakistan Services Limited, which then owned 4 numbers Inter-Continental Hotels (Now Pearl Continental Hotels) that was the largest chain of 5-star hotels in Pakistan.
Besides being Director in different Hashoo Group of Companies, Mr. Hashwani is also on the Board of M/s Jubilee General Insurance Company Limited.
Mr. Murtaza Hashwani
Mr. Murtaza Hashwani took over as Chief Executive Officer of the Company in 1998.
He is a Business Graduate from Santa Monica, Los Angeles, USA and has attended various courses on Management. He also participated in various workshops/ short courses organized by Cornell University-USA.
He has extensive experience of managing diversified portfolio of businesses including Hotels, Pharmaceuticals and Oil & and Gas besides Information Technology.
He holds directorships in other Companies of Hashoo Group.
Ms. Sarah Hashwani
Ms. Sarah Hashwani graduated from Saint Thomas University in Houston with five honors and subsequently continued Master’s Degree in Pakistan.
She looks after Corporate Governance Department and Philanthropic affairs of Hashoo Group of companies. She is the Chairperson of HOAP Foundation International.
She is also the Board member of other Companies of Hashoo Group.
Ms. Shazia Hashwani
Mr. Mustansir Zakir
Mr. Mustansir Zakir is a Director of Hashwani Hotels Limited. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP). He is also an Associate member of Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan. He has been associated with the Hashoo Group for more than 20 years and has served in different key management positions.
Mr. Mohammad Amir
Mr. Mohammad Amir has joined the Board in 2008.
Mr. Mohammad Amir is working with the Hashoo Group since 1989 and his experience portfolio encompasses accounting training of 4 years from a well reputed firm M/s A.F. Fergusons Chartered Accountants. In 2008 his services were transferred from Pakistan Services Ltd to Hashwani Hotels limited. Currently, he is working as Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Executive Director of Hashwani Hotels Limited. Mr. Mohammad Amir is a fellow member of the Institute of Public Finance Accountants of Pakistan and a member of Licensed International Financial Analyst.
Col.(r) Tahir Hussain Shah
Col (R) Tahir Hussain Shah is a Director of Hashwani Hotels Limited. He joined Hashoo Group in 1997 as Manager Projects and Legal and was promoted as General Manager Admin. & Coordination in year 2000. Prior to joining Hashoo Group, he served Pakistan Army for 25 years. He has been associated with the Hashoo Group for more than 17 years and serving in different key management positions.
